Welcome to California's Inland Empire and Its Transformation Throughout World War II

This is a student-created project documenting local history. Entries were written by students in Cal Poly Pomona's HST 371 and HST 3391S courses in the Spring and Fall terms of 2018.

This website includes a Wiki covering a wide range of regional history topics; lesson plans; and an interactive GIS map of businesses converted for the war effort. It remains a work in progress.

The project team would like to extend our special thanks to
the National Cemetery Administration’s Veteran’s Legacy Program, which helped
fund our work; and to the Historical Society of the Pomona Valley, which served
as HST 3391S’ community partner in Fall 2018.
