What is Sex?

Sex is the set of biological traits that a person is born with. While dichotomous, that is to say that the vast majority of people fall into one of two categories, it is not binary--there are more than two categories of people in the world. Sex can include reproductive organs, secondary sexual characteristics, and genetic makeup. While sex assigned at birth can play a big role in how someone understands their gender, they are not directly linked, as trans and intersex people can feel a disconnect in between sex and gender that they need to correct.
