BEYOND GAMES
Unity has been involved in far more than plainly "creating games". We might even go as far as saying that it shows shared traits with the spirit of hacktivism, in the sense that the company has its software in open-source and promotes accessibility to knowledge and free-of-cost training.
For those interested in getting serious about game developing as a career, there are also opportunities for formal learning and certification through Unity, in order to increase their professional value. Parallel to that, Unity also offers a grant of USD 17,000 for graduate students with game-projects that will help them enter the video game workforce.
If that wasn’t enough, Unity has also been engaged in social causes that push for a more connected, free and tolerant world. One example of this was their sponsoring of visas for people that had their flight privileges restricted due to their nationality.
