Remembering John Culkin

"It has always made sense
for people who live on water to learn how to swim.”

As John Culkin reminds us all too well with this aphorism, in order to properly understand the media environments that shape us, we must first educate ourselves and others of said media. And while this may seem an all too obvious observation, people across the world continue to take less than critical approaches when trying to formulate their own opinions about the media.

Though this project doesn't go nearly in depth enough in understanding the stalwart personality of one of the most unrecognized figures in Media Studies, it nonetheless attempts to understand John Culkin's teachings with the blending of the archival process and the overall product as reflected in these digital pages of audio, text, image, and most importantly, reflection.
