Madhushree Kamak


Madhushree Kamak is an independent art-science curator and information experience designer who specializes in creating exhibitions and cultural programmes at the intersection of art, science, and technology. As a Brooks International Fellow at Tate Modern, she conducted research on emerging technologies, particularly AI, and their impact on cultural spaces. Her most recent role was as Head of Exhibitions and Programmes at Science Gallery Bengaluru (SGB), the only Asian member of the international Science Gallery network.

From 2019, Kamak led SGB's programmes team, conceptualising and developing contemporary art-science exhibition-seasons including ELEMENTS (2019), SUBMERGE (2020), PHYTOPIA (2020), CONTAGION (2021), PSYCHE (2022), and CARBON (2023). PHYTOPIA was the first fully digital interactive exhibition in India and digital exhibition CONTAGION won the Falling Walls Prize for Breakthroughs in Science Engagement in 2021. She has also developed digital learning platforms, mentorship programmes and public art commissions. 

Her achievements include being selected as a 2024 Brooks International Fellow, participating in the Berlin Biennale Curators Programme 2022, and being a Khoj Curatorial Intensive South Asia Fellow 2021. Her "Xperimenter Programme" at SGB was a 2022 Finalist at Falling Walls Berlin in the Future Learning category.
