Mosque Interior (S&L)
We wanted the mosque's interior to be a major contrast to its exterior, though remaining sleek and elegant. The prayer hall, in particular, is grandiose with its mosaic dome ceiling and qibla wall. We really wanted the design elements of the interior to be a sort of a shock, surprising and unexpected compared to the exterior, like a hidden gem that only those who enter are privileged with experiencing. There are also bits and pieces of international Islamic history thrown in!
