The People
Each of the woman that I have had the honor of getting to know throughout the last year come from unique homes, journeyed different paths, but most importantly they each have a story to tell. The facts and figures that go along with the refugee population in America are staggering. It is easier for us to ignore our neighbors and just read about them as numbers.
These women and their families have come to a point in their lives where they were trapped and had no way out. Despite having no vision for an escape route, they kept fighting for something more, a better life. When no one was there to help them walk forward, they trudged through their circumstances, often risking their lives just to glimpse the freedom of a simple opportunity.
