About the Authors (Spring 2017)

 Daniel Argueta 
Daniel is a Case Western Reserve University sophomore chemical engineering major and business management minor from Honduras. He is treasurer of Delta Sigma Phi and of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at CWRU. He works at the Division of Engineering Leadership and Professional Practice on campus. After graduation he hopes to work in the Research and Development department as well as work with the business area of the companies.

 
Kim Browne
Kim Browne is a sophomore biology and economics major at Case Western Reserve. She is president of Figure Skating Club and University Hospitals coordinator for Project Sunshine (volunteer organization that works with children/families facing medical challenges). Her favorite moments at Case are volunteering at Rainbow Babies and the Ronald McDonald House.

 

Renee Decker

Renee is a sophomore chemical engineering major at Case Western Reserve University, originally from Pittsburgh, PA.  She is a part of the varsity swim team and is the internal development chair for the University Program Board.  Renee also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, and is an undergraduate teaching assistant.  After graduation Renee hopes to continue in the pursuit of knowledge and find a career she thoroughly enjoys.  

 

Sierra Gray

Sierra is a sophomore Cognitive Science major at Case Western Reserve University from Rochester, NY. She hasn’t yet decided on a career path, but her plan is to keep doing things that she enjoys and hopefully she finds a career that she is passionate about. She is a member of the Theta Beta chapter of Delta Gamma Fraternity and is currently serving as the VP: Finance for her chapter. She also works part time as a student assistant to the Executive Aide to the Dean of the CWRU School of Dental Medicine. She enjoys cooking and baking and likes to spend her free time relaxing with her friends and family.
 

Nick Longo

Nick Longo is a second-year Biomedical Engineering student from Pittsburgh, PA. Outside of classes, he spends his time playing for CWRU’s club ultimate frisbee team or spending time with his brothers of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a career of research and development in the field of integrated neural-implant prosthetics.
 

Tim Mayer

Tim Mayer is a sophomore accounting major at Case Western Reserve University. He is planning on enrolling in the integrated Masters of Accounting program, and completing his Masters degree during his senior year. Tim looks forward to interning with Deloitte Tax this summer. Outside of school, he enjoys hiking, playing sports and barbecuing.

 

Raj Vemula:

Raj is a Biology and Economics double major at Case Western Reserve University. He is part of the class of 2019 and is involved with CWRU EMS and Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He volunteers at a hospital back home and hopes to be a doctor in the future.

Bhavya Kumaran

Bhavya Kumaran is a second-year Computer Engineering major at Case Western Reserve University. On campus, her activities include being a part of the varsity swimming and diving team, marking coordinator of Kids Against Hunger Cleveland, and the Treasurer of CWRU Rasa. Outside of school, Bhavya’s extracurricular activities include Indian Classical Music and Dance, which she has been learning for 15 years. After graduation, Bhavya hopes to work in the field or get a master’s degree.


Pooja Padmakumar

Pooja is a junior economics major at Case Western Reserve University and is interested in the field of public health. She hopes to go to graduate school in Economics after graduation. She enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her dogs.

 

Samuel Skora

Sam Skora is studying biomedical engineering and is reaching the end of his second year at Case Western. He is aspiring to create the finest biomaterial the world has ever seen, and in the meantime spends his time volunteering with the Food Recovery Network and working out at the gym and stuff.

 

Sean Baxley

Sean Baxley is a rising senior studying biochemistry at Case Western Reserve Univeristy. He is currently pursuing a career in the medical field, with extensive research experience in the area of neuroscience. Aside from academics, Sean is also a member of the acapella group, Case in Point, and is a founding member of CWRU’s Boys and Girls Club.

 

Anmol Gupta

Anmol is currently a second-year undergraduate student at Case Western Reserve University from Houston, Texas. Pursuing a dual degree in biochemistry and medical anthropology, Anmol is an aspiring pediatric physician passionate in oncology and immunotherapy research. Currently, Anmol is in involved with undergraduate research, volunteers at the local pediatric clinic, and serves as the Director of Affairs for Case Western’s newest media organization. When he is not busy studying for his classes, Anmol enjoys playing the violin, trying new foods, and traveling abroad.

 

Aravindan Krishnan

Aravindan Krishnan is a senior from Columbus, Ohio majoring in Biology. He is currently conducting research in embryo development and brain aging in drosophila. Outside of class, Aravindan enjoys playing violin and hiking with his friends. After graduation he plans to pursue graduate studies in developmental  and cell biology.

 

Jeffrey Malashock

Jeffrey Malashock is a junior from Omaha, Nebraska majoring in accounting. He was originally in pursuit of a music degree, but decided to do something in business. He plans to pursue a career in public accounting. As a hobby, he loves to ski on snow and water, play music, and enjoy nature.

 

Caleb Middlebrook

Caleb Middlebrook is a sophomore at Case Western Reserve University from Cincinnati, Ohio.  Pursuing a degree in music and biology, Caleb is an aspiring psychiatrist with interests in mental health and pain medicine. Currently Caleb is a volunteer at University Hospitals  Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and a cellist in the Case University Circle Orchestra. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and trying new foods.
