Floor Mosaic Location
- This mosaic, as many are, was installed in situ, in the location it was meant to be permanently. That means it was made in Daphne in the house it was found in centuries later.
- Daphne is a suburb of Antioch or south east Turkey today (see map for general area).
- The floor mosaic with a border of vines and animals was in a private home rather than a public building.
- The materials, mostly limestone, were potentially from the area since limestone is a resource quarried in the eastern Mediterranean area even in the 1st millennium.
