People clearly valued this effective, multi-faceted weapon, for a nobleman to have owned and maintained such an ornate one, illustrating that such a weapon could only originate in a culture that values bloodshed and prowess in battle yet also the accompanying rank-pulling, the celebration of noble lineage with all its pageantry, especially for the poleaxe to become such a quintessential part of medieval iconography and for international tournaments to draw in attendance from foreigners who appreciated the warlike spectacles as much as the locals did.
