The Armed Muse
The Armed Muse was a book of poetry written by Herbert E. Palmer and published by the Hogarth Press in 1930. This particular copy of the book, a first print, had an inscription inside the cover:
"Frank Whitaker
from
Herbert E. Palmer
with highest regards"
The book was dedicated to Roy Campbell, a South African poet and satirist, and a common opponent of Marxism. The book contains 23 poems, collected and printed together for the first time. Generally, the poetry in the book is concerned with World War I, self-reflection, and politics.
