Conclusion

Coming to a close of my project, I
came to realize that a specific study could have a lot of different studies
within it. But when focusing on one specific topic in a giant study could lead
you to answers you may have known but couldn’t measure.  I wasn’t able to measure my
studies, but from other studies that were able to measure how many moms and how
many dads were on Facebook I was able to make the generalization that my
question could be supported and answered. Mom’s are typically more involved on
social media, especially Facebook which would prove that they would be more
involved on the digital platform’s Facebook page because they are generally on
their more often. Then from the Facebook page, the mothers would have the idea
to go to the main page of the digital platform. Hence why when searching for
moms and mothers compared to dads and fathers, the female results were much
higher than the males. There are multiple ways to get to the digital platforms
page from the Facebook page.

However during my research I was
limited to the statistics that were already provided through other studies. I
wasn’t able to complete the research on my own, which would have made my study
more reliable.

            I didn’t
want to make the general stereotype that mom’s are on Facebook more because
they have more spare time. I do wonder if I were going into the study further I
would be able to find a reason as to why moms are on Facebook more often. For
now I have the data, findings and answer to my question that I needed to
complete this project.

            If I were
to continue the research I would want the ability to measure Facebook
Statistics and also the ability to measure the differences between men and
women who are on Facebook. I would want the ability to get statistics about the
working parent compared to the parent who is the stay-at-home-parent caring for
their child. Would those parents be on social media sites more than parents who
were working full time. These studies could be furthered, but would require a
lot more studies and statistics.

            As this
project comes to its final stages, there were approaches I would have done
differently looking back now. However I am glad I went through the project with
my starting question, because from that I was able to make adjustments and
alterations based on my original question, sticking to the same platform and
finding a topic that was studied and could use more studies. It was an interesting
question to answer. It had to be a topic that interested us and even though I am
no longer in the Education world trying to be a teacher, the topics about
teachers and parents and students still really interest me. The topics constantly
are changing and the questions are being answered because the topics are
something people want to study and need to know answers to. Just like in school
we have to answer questions-  just like
adults need to involving social media sites, children, and topics that take
over there daily lives.
