As one of the most influential protests in South African history, the Soweto Uprising represents the discriminatory practices of the Apartheid government. Ultimately, through the use of photographs, film, and data analysis, it is our hope that we convey not only how the Afrikaans Medium Decree was racially motivated, but also how peaceful protests turned deadly at the hands of South African law enforcement officials.
