Presented here are twelve editorial cartoons and illustrations from the Victorian magazines Punch, Fun, and The Illustrated London News, all published during the second half of the nineteenth century. They include three editorial cartoons by John Gordon Thompson, followed by two editorial cartoons and two editorial illustrations about the Second Anglo-Afghan War as well as five editorial cartoons about other British imperial conflicts of the late nineteenth century. The images in the gallery can be clicked on to be viewed in full-size, and the titles (in the order of the gallery) below lead to pages with brief descriptions and bibliographical information.
