12023-04-18T10:33:37-07:00Collaborative Work Agreements6plain2023-04-20T11:00:10-07:00Due to the highly collaborative nature of our project work, students all contributed to and agreed upon a guiding set of principles that would direct our work together. Our community agreements were, as follows:
We believe:
that dependability is a crucial aspect of successful collaborative labor;
that open-mindedness and respectful forms of communication (using welcoming language) will yield a more successful project space; and
that the most effective work environments are those in which group members do not judge each other for what they do not know, but instead come together to share knowledge collaboratively so that the group can succeed.
We commit to:
being accessible via standard communication forms, including email and messaging systems, if comfortable, and to be timely (within 24 hours) in your responses;
assigning written roles and responsibilities at the beginning of any project in a clear and transparent way;
uplifting each other by intentionally distributing work to compliment one another’s skills in writing, research, and data management (and flexibility adapting to project needs when your preferences are able to be accommodated);
garnering group-wide consensus before taking the project in a significant new direction;
prioritizing transparent and honest communication, including a commitment to sharing information and feedback with group members; and
keeping group members in the loop regarding project progress (goals met, obstacles encountered, etc.) and letting Professor Noonan know if conflicts arise so that she can assist and/or mediate, as needed.
