The dream sequence is clay-mation. It begins with a dog talking to Flanders. Flanders tell the dog that he thinks talking dogs are the sign of the devil, and that they are watching his son graduate from college. His son is on a stage being handed a diploma while Flanders sits in the audience. The dog says, "Aren't you glad you let Edna take charge of the boys' education?" Flanders agrees, but then sees "liberal professors" (two hippies in front of a colorful bus with anti-war picket signs), "feminist workshops" (a woman standing in front of a board covered with the female gender symbol), and abstract sculptures. He rexclaims, "This isn't a Mid-Western Bible College. This is an elite North-Eastern University!" His son tries to console him, telling him that he majored in religious studies. But Flanders is even more mortified when his son tells him that he actually majored in comparative religious studies. analysis
