The third type of SEO provider are web designers. They mostly offer on page optimization. The difference between onpage and offpage  is that off page optimization trumps on page  The reason why web designers do not offer off page optimization is that it is not something they are knowledgeable in. Web designers are skilled in Photoshop and art, not algorithms. For that reason, they usually only deal with on page.

However, you will need to know something about SEO first and be able to translate this to the freelancer. Most of them are overseas contractors in countries such as India, Thailand, and the Philippines.


The fifth and final type of provider are link sellers. These individuals sell links to companies or anyone who would like to buy them. This is the cheapest way to do optimization since it would be like an individual making his own cake instead of buying one at the store. The downside to this method is that the individual needs to know how to use these tools. Therefore, they need experience in this highly competitive field.


Out of all five types of providers, the easiest for a small business to use is a SEO company. This would allow the business owner the most time in his business and have this handled by an expert. Note that, who you see in #1 or #2 is not what another person might see in #1 or #2. This is because Google uses something called the filter bubble to display the results it thinks that you would like the most. So, someone who has a history of searching for travel information would see links to travel sites when searching for a country whereas someone who has a history of searching for international news would see a list of links to news stories about that country.
