Core Curriculum
Santa Rosa City Schools
- 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English.
- Two courses in mathematics, including first-year Algebra or equivalent.
- United States History and World History.
- Semester-long courses in American Government and Economics.
- One visual or performing arts course, or a career or vocational course requiring creative self-expression.
- One world language course.
- Biology and earth/physical science course, at least one of which is a laboratory science course.
- Two-year long courses in Physical Education and/or Dance.
- Semester-long course in Health/Life Skills

Mission Statement:The mission of Santa Rosa High School is to produce students who are educated, productive citizens of our society prepared to enter post secondary education and employment opportunities. They w ill be critical thinkers and consumers aware of the social and political consequences of their choices.

- Students are required to have 220 units to graduate consisting of:
- 40 English
- 30 Social Science
- 20 Math (Algebra 1 required)
- 20 Physical Education
- 20 Science
- 10 World Language
- 10 Visual & Performing Arts
- 5 Health & Life Skills
- 65 Electives
Pathways
- Agriculture, Automotive Technologies, Business, CAD Drafting, Electronics, and Wood Shop English, math, science, social studies, foreign language and physical education.
- Foreign languages offered are Spanish, French and Latin.
- Advanced placement is available in Spanish, French, English, Art, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, economics and U.S. History.
- Honors credit is offered in English (Freshmen, Sophomore and Junior), biology, chemistry, physics, government, world history, Spanish, French, geometry and algebra.
- Physical education, required for graduation, emphasizes fitness and healthy living.
- ArtQuest program, with specialty course work in Visual Fine Arts, Dance, Drama, Instrumental and Vocal Music, and Multimedia / Video was recently awarded the prestigious Jack London Award for Educational Excellence.
- The Santa Rosa High School’s Agriculture Department has a working 39 acre school farm that is utilized by the students for multiple learning activities throughout the year. In addition, the Retail COOP course provides students with work-ready skills while they are simultaneously employed in retail, banking, or other business-related position.
