ReVise: the Process
The ReVise project remixes revision, using DWRL resources to rework and recast course content (papers, readings, and texts) into digital presentations. Students transform textual objects into persuasive visual arguments. The project demonstrates how changing medium, genre, perspective, or audience can alter argument.
1. Pre-writing: prepare a 500 word script.
- map out an argument pairing visual and textual rhetoric.
2. A/V workshop week: co-led by DWRL staff and instructors.
- compile, edit, and revise projects.
- practice in safe “digital play” environment to gain knowledge of tools like Audacity, Quicktime, and iMovie.
- Check out equipment—microphones, cameras, tripods, etc—as needed to extend project quality.
- respond thoughtfully to audience questions.
