You Have Always Been Here

We have found that to travel to other galaxies in other times
we only have to sit and close our eyes.
The colonizers did not know this.
We have found that
our bodies contain galaxies.
I am the universe.
In my breath that opens the capillaries in my asthmatic lungs
in the blood that rushes through my veins in a mirror structure of my breath,
in the heat that warms my body, carried through my blood and breath,
in the electricity dancing in my brain,
across synapses in the shape of capillaries, veins, rivers, mountains, galaxies.
the universe works its ways
the universe is contained here
it unfolds inside of me
when I sit and listen
and look at it with my eyes closed.
