Book Summary:
      Ready Player One is a magic book that readers time travel to 2044, while experiencing 1980s culture. The author makes famous game characters from 80s play parts in the game of this novel. It shortens the distance between the 80s generation and now days, and put all the elements from 80s pop culture into context. In the main character’s point of view, the 80s culture is classic, charming, and something he is obsessed with. Ready Player One not only includes elements from the games in the 80s, but also the other kinds of pop culture, such as movies, TV drama, music, fashion, etc. Schmoop calls Ready Player One Ernest Cline’s “love letter to the eighties.”
      The story is about a teenage boy, Wade Watts, who is determined to win a game. The game is played on OASIS, which is a virtual reality gaming platform. The ultimate mission it so find an Easter egg. To find the Easter egg, the gamers need to find three keys, copper key, jade key, and crystal key and open three doors. The creator, James Halliday has passed away. In his final message to the world, he gave all his properties up as a prize to the winner of the game. Wade is a loner. He doesn’t have any friends in real life. Wade trained himself well to win the game. He watched the movies that James Holliday used to watch. He played the games that Holliday used to play. He is willing to learn anything that James Holliday did in the 1980s. In OASIS, Wade experienced competition, friendship, love, immorality, dreams, and hopes, but he never gave up. Wade has been a good gamer. He found all the three keys, opened all the three doors, and finally found the egg.
