Sources and Methodology
This section describes how I went about my research. What archives and collections did I consult? What types of materials did they contain? Who produced them? When? Where? For what aim? I'll explain how this particular set of sources allows me to answer my research question.
My research will have more credibility if I address its limitations. I could discuss the ways my sources privilege certain types of information and obscured others. Or, I could think about gaps in the archive. By addressing the ways I negotiated these limitations, I can make a stronger case for my arguments.
