Analysis:

The last propaganda tactic that this research will be touching upon is the tactic of using glittering statements in posters and movie segments. For instance, in the cartoon shown above, Bugs Bunny is singing about how the people should be buying more bonds and states that, “Bunch of freedom is what I am selling...Buy your share of freedom today!”. In order to get people to contribute financially to war, the government used emotional appeal through glamorized statements, in this case a person is not only aiding war efforts but also is buying their freedom. Even in the cartoon, Bugs Bunny calls the bonds collector as “freedom man” who comes to people’s houses wearing a patriotic hat (turning him away would be very unpatriotic thing to do). They made sure that a person knows when they are taking their part in the war, they are “buying their freedom”, or “doing it for their family” or “preserving their religion”. Essentially, by not acting the way that the propaganda posters are telling one to do, they are hurting not just their country,but themselves and their family.
