Game to Play at home:

What do you do in Fair Verona?

Game to play as a group in class:

Romeo & Juliet Game

In my facilitation week, I led the class through an exploration and practical demonstration of using tabletop role playing mechanics in course assignments to generate discussion. To give a practical explanation of incorporating these mechanics, I first created a short remix video to explain what tabletop role playing game (ttrpg) mechanics are and how they function. I next created a game for the class to play at home and a second one to play as a group in class, both of which were based on exploring theme in Romeo & Juliet.
After completing these games, we had a discussion on how everyone reacted to the games themselves, as well as how they might incorporate ttrpg mechanics into their own classrooms in the future.
For me, this was the first practical test of a larger project that I hope to complete in the future. Based upon the inbuilt accessibility features, both the games I created for my class facilitation, as well as the ones I have planned for the future, are built using Google's suite of free software. I chose this medium because of its ease of use and native integration into Google Classrooms and its ability to be easily shared among a wide variety of educators, students, and the general populace.
