A Study of Secrecy
Everyone has their own secrets, only some a brave enough to share them with those they are close to. Since 2004, people have had a new outlet to share their secrets on. The best part? It is completely anonymous.
PostSecret was created by Frank Warren to allow people to share their secrets on postcards with people all over the world. For my Civic Media course, I was instructed to complete a research assignment which examined how a social media platform was being used to change the world. Of all the ways the Internet has revolutionized communication, I found PostSecret and its affect of self-disclosure through offering anonymity to be the most interesting.
