Connection to class readings
The internet is a free and open place, because digital files are just a bunch of 01110010010101's anything is easily copied. However, James Boyle has no fear of this effecting the internet at all. Copies in themselves are free advertising as they're being passed around so much that people get to know whatever it is. As all things are, copies may not be as good as the original, that being said, there are pirated music and video files that although are copies of an original, may be not as pure. The internet is clogged with bad versions of songs with static in the background, but never the less the song is still popular.
Everyone argues that if music is free, than musicians don't get a paycheck and will then quit. Boyle agrees with most of the virtual world in that, if you love doing something and it's interesting to people, you will end up reaping benefits from it no matter what.
