This project is made to accompany the exhibition not but nothing other: African-American Portrayals, 1930s to Today (September 5 – December 7, 2019) at the Binghamton University Art Museum.

Each image in this book is also featured in the exhibition.  Hover over the highlighted rectangles on each image for more information and links to related content.

The exhibition is organized by Tom McDonough, Associate Professor of Art History.

The Scalar book is organized by Lauren Cesiro, Doctoral Candidate in Art History.
