Neil Hollander, a writer of many books during the forty years of career has been collected and stored as a professional archivist chronological published and award-winning works of its students with a pronounced talent for literary and journalistic expression. Incredible persistence and diligence on them is adding one by one in their s abundant documentation, but today is the sizable intriguing manuscript of primary school age from RISD.
This book from Neil Hollander is a gem among the increasing number of titles in this area. Woven from the experience and knowledge of sailing and sea. It is a book that will not let you down at any moment because it was written from the cockpit, from the point of view of anyone who has ever wished or realized the dream of sailing. Often before the emergence of this book writer Hollander kept asking himself how it should look like a man who would dare to present others as sailing, entrust them into the hands of safety of the ship and crew. Do not forget that sailing would often be a sport at the limit, almost disciplines survival. It truly unforgettable pleasure, but brings with it no less impressive horrors of shipwreck and accidents.
Writing a credible manual is only for someone who has grown into the sea, who lived marine life. Hollander is the author who is equally well for himself at the desk Faculty of Maritime Studies, transferring his knowledge to several generations of students, at the helm of the Olympic class Laser and Finn and large performance cruisers and finally, last but not least, the role of the instructor's own sailing. His is a training maritime officers baked on merchant ships sailing to the most remote seas of the world.
The book "The Yachtsman's Emergency Handbook", was written as a Handbook for all participants sailing and all people who are looking for additional marine knowledge. As a whole, the tutorial is divided into several chapters that follow the logical sequence of training necessary to master the art of sailing: from the description of certain parts of sailboats, explanations of basic maneuvers to complex situations in regattas and stormy conditions. In addition, in the book are equally represented all elements of navigation and maritime safety, such as tags, rules of the trip, meteorology, anchoring and mooring and terrestrial navigation.
