The book is a reflection on simple living in natural surroundings, which he wrote while living by himself in the woods for two years, two months and two days.plain2019-12-11T17:20:19-08:00Thoreau, Henry DavidHardcoverNovelFelicia Swartzenberg9dca8a4beb6c168d9aba5fc9d4c14cd463fe5a91
Walden is a book I read in high school that had a profound and lasting effect on me. Between Thoreau and Whitman, I think it's safe to say that transcendentalist literature turned me into the dirty communist I am today. This particular copy is special to me because it was gifted to me by a former friend and it's one of the oldest books I own, although I'm still unsure of the exact date this copy was printed before copyright information pages were the standard.
