This book was gifted to me as a high school graduation gift from my all time favorite high school teacher, Mr. Daniel Izzo. We worked together a lot because he was the director of the plays at school, so we knew each other for three years before I came into his classroom. We bonded over the fact that I was one of the few students who actually enjoyed reading Shakespeare.
When I graduated, he gifted me this copy specifically because we always joked that I was very similar to the lead female role in the play, Katherina. I'm a bit of a spitfire and I'm very passionate about the things I care about, and it always came out in class whenever someone bashed a book or made a silly comment. He gave me the nickname "Smackdown" because whenever someone was acting up, I would always say something and "smackdown" their mean comments or bad arguement.
