While I've lauded many of these books as my "favorite," Fahrenheit 451 is my true answer to the question, "what is your favorite book." I don't think any other book has held the title as long, or has affected my life philosophy in so many ways (aside from Cyrus the Unsinkable Sea Serpent). I've read the book exactly 14 times, as I keep a tally on the front cover of my personal journal, and I plan on reading it as many times as I find suitable.
I have so many thoughts and ideas about the books meaning, and every time I reread it I discover a new meaning or hidden detail that was missed before. This particular, beat up copy is my favorite because of all the notes I've written in it over the years. When I reread the book, I try to always read this copy so I can jot down my insights. I have notes from as long as 7 years ago and notes as recent as last year in this book. If anything ever happened to it, I would probably cry my eyes out. If you read no other book from this list, I implore you to read this one.
