Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.
Anya's Ghost is the graphic novel that got me interested in graphic novels. Before reading this book, I assumed all graphic novels were like comic books about superheroes, so I never really explored the genre. Now, obviously, I know better and have explored a lot more into that genre. This copy is special to me because it was sent to me by a penpal I had when I was younger. We made friends on the internet based on our mutual love of books, and we ended up becoming physical penpals where we would send little gifts and presents to each other. She sent me this book during a time where I really needed to hear these lessons, and I've treasured it ever since.
