The Huffington Post

In July 2012, The Huffington Post was ranked #1 on the 15 Most Popular Political Sites listed by eBizMBA Rank,  which bases its list on each site's Alexa Global Traffic Rank and U.S. Traffic Rank from both Compete and Quantcast.

When I searched "Trump tapes" on The Huffington Post website, a range of article links popped up. Oddly enough, unlike CNN and Fox News where the focus was towards the politics of the tapes and how the tapes themselves affected the election, the first search result falls under the category of comedy, then politics to entertainment, art & culture then back to politics.

It appears as if The Huffington Post does not focus the terminology "Trump tapes" in the same matter as CNN or Fox News which is political phraseology. Anything that has to do with "Trump" and "tapes" is a search result, which makes it evident why different categories of stories popped up. It was more difficult to find pieces more relevant on a political level because I had to scroll down further to find them.

The Huffington Post utilizes the "most recent" for search results compared to CNN and Fox News who use "relevance".

For the articles that actually mention the Trump tapes, one surprisingly belongs in the arts & culture section of the site.

"Donald Trump's 'Locker Room Talk' Got Him Nominated For Bad Sex In Fiction Award" - This article discusses the Trump tapes and what Trump stated represented "an outstandingly bad scene of sexual description in an otherwise good novel." At the end, the editor expresses her disdain for Trump by giving him the "unsexy award" anyway.

"Billy Bush Was Fired After 'Access Hollywood' Assault Talk, But Trump Gets To Become President" - A heavily opinionated piece, though not categorized as opinion as in CNN, that criticizes Trump's behavior and the fact that it apparently is not appropriate for a host of a segment to state lewd comments, but it is okay for the future President of the United States to do so. The editor also provides her fair share of criticism for Trump's comments by describing it as "gut-churning" and "boastful".

The Huffington Post approaches the Trump tapes without as much urgency as CNN or Fox News. Rather than focusing on the political atmosphere the phrase "Trump tapes" has been clouded in, this news outlet does not focus on purely political implications but rather ranges in how it is applicable to multiple subject fields.
