Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

This resulted in the creation of the Newark Bike Project, located in Newark Delaware. The project has many aspects, one being the fact that it is a free repair shop. It does not matter if you do not know how to repair a bicycle, as they offer professional tools as well as mechanics who can help you repair your bike. In addition, they offer classes where you can learn how to fix bikes yourselves. Along with the sale of used bikes, the organization receives funding through grants and donations. They also have a free bike program to help those in need. For example, if someone cannot drive a car, they can fill out an application, and at no cost can receive a bike as well as any repairs it may need in the future. Anyone interested in biking, community work, and learning are welcome and encouraged to become a volunteer to work towards the wonderful goal of progress.
