[in]Complete Street

This scenic road is located just outside of several neighborhoods in Delaware. To the left, out of the frame of the photo, there is a stream, slowly gurgling along and surrounded by a beautiful forest. It’s the perfect place for a family bike ride or a solo walk to reconnect with nature - at least it would be. However, this road is extremely incomplete; there’s no shoulder, no sidewalk, and no bike lane. Although the surrounding forest may have been an initial draw to homeowners in the area, they quickly realize that they are unable to safely traverse the area when outside of a car. The area has a walkability score of 7/100 making it entirely car-dependent. However, this road in particular could have potential. If it were to be made into a one-way street, the other lane could become a 2-way bike path. The street is already narrow and curvy, lending itself to people driving slower and with more caution, perfect conditions for pedestrians and bikers.
