Costume Designer Mirela Rupic Exceeds All Expectations
Taken by the beauty and complexity behind costume design, Rupic decided to take this path, acquiring formal education on how to create such fashion, and learn how to run the history of costume and fashion, seeking inspiration in fashion drawings, photography, modeling, styling, and even industrial design. After polishing her talent and design skills, she was able to successfully break through into the fashion market.
Rupic did an excellent job fitting into the costume design world, and her sketches from which she creates beautiful dresses and costumes have analyzed in a project from the University of South Alabama, and have been described by critics as something that they imagine for Disney fairytales. She began sewing 14 years ago, and now, for her versions of designs, some of which are made by hand; it sometimes takes up to 250 hours. So far, she has designed pieces for over 150 films, most of which have turned into international blockbusters, and in addition to that, she has wowed theatre lovers with her original outfits. As she explains, developing costumes for each character can be quite exhausting, but if you love what you do, there isn’t a thing that you can’t achieve.
Although her early beginnings weren’t directly connected with costume design, Mirela Rupic was able to direct her career towards the direction she wanted. With time, a whole world of opportunities opened up for her, and before she knew it she was making costumes for films and the theater plays. Confident that she will succeed in her plans, this talented designer climbed high on the career ladder, inspiring other young designer with creative ideas to follow their heart, and always trust in themselves.
