Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Watery Worlds Thoughts

It can be a state of mind or We are told that life began in the water and ironically without water that life that was birthed will die. It becomes such an unconscious thing to us to not realise how dependant the world is on the availability, abundancy and quality of water. Water is the source of life because animals evolved from constantly breathing and swimming in water to walking and breathing on land. Where fins and gills morphed into lungs and limbs, life began to explore land, a place without water. These evolved animals did not realise that without a little bit of water every day they would die. Even though they became less dependent on water for survival for things such as breathing and movement they still required water for their other adaptations, their organs and limbs to continue functioning. This transfers to humanity, people do not realise how important water is for their overall health and everyday bodily functioning. Some people do not drink water at all and their body signals that they need it or they will suffer the consequences such as migraines, collapsing and loss of strength. The watery worlds we possess inside of our bodies and minds.
Water has the power to kill, just as much as create and help life. That transfers over to humanity too. Humans are like bad or infected water because they infect what is good, pure and beautiful and slowly kill it from the inside out. Dirty water needs to be cleansed before it hurts any more life, just like the planet needs to cleansed of dirty humans.
