Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Threads of Entanglement

The idea that two particles are entangled, and influencing one results in an effect on the second is fascinating to me because it reminds of a Korean cultural understanding that everybody is born with a person they're fated to meet in their life, and what connects the two is a red thread tied around their pinkies. I think in particular ecoentanglement is interesting to explore through the lense of not only 2 participants but 3 or more, too. And this in turn ties in with the emerging idea of distributed networks or decentralisation that is happening in the finance, tech, and startup worlds. I find it ceaselessly fascinating how the same concept emerges with different names in different areas, and as a result I think it would be important to add a distributed ledger/network i.e. a blockchain as another form of ecoentanglement.
