In this way, water’s fluid quality functions as its own distinct dialect, rebuking human attempts at control and capitalisation seen in infrastructure projects. In this image, we see the stark effects of human misuse of waterways, as the ocean refuses to absorb the oil but continues to transport it through its communicative network and with its inhabitants.
