Environmental Problems within Australia

During week 3 I looked more into the environmental problems we were facing in Australia. I never fully grasped what was the extent of the damage we have done as a society to the animal population in our world. This is all due to climate change, habitat loss, invasive species, pollution and much more. In our country alone there are over 1900 species of animals that are listed as threatened, and that number is a huge number, which I do not think a majority of the population realises. Not only that, but the government also continues to put into action things that further destroy the habitats that these animals live upon.  The world is very quickly being ruined, but a majority of the world cannot or does not want to see it. In a way it supports the idea of the Extinction theory, that humans are incompatible with the rest of the natural world and we are bringing along the ‘sixth mass extinction’.
