“Mr. Lincoln’s” speech

The shots of how the audiences watching the “Mr. Lincoln’s” speech is interesting. They look at the stage so seriously as if someone (namely Abraham Lincoln) is really giving a speech (but not just a robot and recordings). Considering there is no real footage of the real Lincoln, it resembles Eco’s (2002) argument that “in the absence of absolute truth we are directed into labyrinthine inventions and half-truths, dead-ends and white lies”.
