In México de mi corazón (1964, dir. Miguel M. Delgado), two pocha cousins travel to Mexico City from Los Angeles. This video essay explores how this fantasy of a return journey portrays the two countries, and their relation to the cousins' strong sense of national pride. The film begins in the Million Dollar Theatre on South Broadway, a theater with an important history for Mexicans and Mexican Americans living in Los Angeles.
