Masculinity in Transit: Steven Yeun, John Cho, and the Korean American Diaspora Onscreen

A breather before we begin.

Before we embark on this project, let us remember the eight people who were killed on March 16, 2021 at three spas in Atlanta, Georgia. These people killed were victims of a racially-motivated and gender-motivated killing.

We must also remember the countless lives lost to U.S. imperialism and intervention in Asian countries, long histories of anti-Asian violence in America, and current xenophobic and racist attitudes that continue to affect Asian Americans.

This project - in all of its forms and origins - does not exist without Asian women and their subjectivities. Please continue to think about your own relationship and conceptions of Asian women during and after engaging with this project.
