Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

But there are some incredibly interesting and important locations and stories that many are woefully ignorant about. I chose to discover the most important stories that can contribute to a better understanding of the university’s past, especially LSU’s history with underrepresented communities.
With this walking tour, I hope you will not only have a better understanding of LSU's history, but also appreciate the stories of these people. While these stories may seem distant and irrelevant today, these stories and people will be forever tied to our university, and their stories deserve to be better recognized. History must be reconciled with the present because it is inexplicably linked to each other and to us today.
