The teacher was looking for a way to enhance her fraction/graphing lesson by integrating technology.  She wanted to technology provide a way for students exercise higher level thinking skills and interpret data, and additionally explain the thought process, allowing her to gauge any conceptual misunderstandings.
In the past, students teachers would have to review student work samples and possibly do student interviews to understand students thinking and identify any conceptual misconceptions.  The use of Explain Everything allows students to not only explain their conceptual understanding but demonstrate their process through audio annotations of their work. This allows teachers to immediately identify and address misconceptions and provide appropriate feedback.
