We finally reach the dump site and I receive the ultimate shock: there is no visible trash. We are surrounded by
high-reaching mountains for dirt, but while my eyes continue to search, I see no garbage. I see an endless line of enormous garbage trucks filing back and forth up and down the mountain dumping their waste, but I don't see any trash. This ritual (like the raising of the American flag) is continual. Finally as my eyes drift up to the pinnacle of the highest hill, I see a
tiny island of trash.
