Kentucky College for Women's History: Revealing the story of women at Centre College

Timeline

Women's Life on the Lexington Avenue Campus (1925-1962)
Kentucky College for Women has progressed and adapted to change over its dynamic history. This change has encompassed the opening of the college in 1860 as the Caldwell Female Institute and progression to the Kentucky College for Women in 1913 to the physical merge of its campus with Centre College in 1962. Progression in women's rights is evident throughout the history of KCW and its transition to Centre College. The enactment of Title IX in 1972 serves as a milestone for women in education. More recently, Centre College has adapted these changes through its implementation of the law. These notable events combine to demonstrate the progression made throughout Centre College's history.

Notable dates pertaining to KCW and Centre College history are marked on the timeline. Starred information leads to external articles with more information on the subject. Click the link to find more information.

Goal is to put in our specific information here so that it all stems outward.  The path will still go through the pages as normal, but this can allow people to go to what interests them.  I am thinking that it goes after a lot of our basic/physical information so that there is a basis for these more specific events that happen.  Welcome to think of better/other places for it

Things to put:

Title IX enactment/reinforcement
Title IX violations
Standout/noteworthy articles or events
Some large, well-known events to ground timeline

All timeline entries will end up tagged by this page, so this page will form a collection of links at the bottom (after body text) where the individual pages/entries are listed out.  After those, the normal blue button to navigate through the project (our 'narrative' so to speak) is accessible
