"If I had to Live my Life Over Again, I would Be a Botanist": John Cage’s Mycology Collection

WEWC Note _

The Whole Earth Cafe was a place that featured a simple menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, and local whole wheat bread from the new Staff of Life bakery in town. Paul Lee and Reverend Herb Schmidt opened the campus restaurant on April Fools day 1970. Whole Earth published a cookbook in 1972 which became wildly popular showcasing California’s budding natural foods movement and can be found in the John Cage Trust library.
