Network visualizations in Itinera use a pinwheel structure, with all of the actors in the database oriented radially. The selected figure, in this case Humboldt, occupies the center, highlighted in red, and those whose networks he overlaps with are magnetized into the center, with gray shading indicating the relative strength of these connections. Hover over the highlighted boxes for annotations that reveal more information about the functionality of the “Travelers” mode. Visit Itinera to generate a network visualization for another traveler.
