Each name creates a sequence of dots on the map, color coded for each agent. Comparing the maps of two travelers, such as Humboldt and Goethe, the Itinera user can see when two historical figures visited the same sites, opening the possibility of potential overlap, and, with further historical research, interactions. Hover over the highlighted box for an annotation that reveals more about the “Routes” mode. Visit Itinera to generate a routes visualization for other travelers.
